The short answer
Compare Old Town, New Town and Malá Strana by the hotel street and room plan. Confirm balcony outlook, bath type, guest limit and any internal stairs, then plan the final airport connection.
These Prague hotel areas use checked guest addresses. Our fit notes describe which trip each base may support, while the linked owners give the room and access facts. Choose the street first, then read the full category. A broad historic-centre label cannot tell you whether the room has a castle view, whether an outdoor tub is in use or whether the suite has internal stairs.
Hotel Josef gives Old Town with named castle-view, balcony and third-bed products. Mosaic House gives New Town with room-specific terraces and a winter limit on the rooftop bath. Augustine gives Malá Strana with a three-level Tower Suite and a separate two-bedroom Moser product.

Choose where to stay in Prague through the guest street and room you will use. Old Town gives the Rybná choice at Hotel Josef. New Town gives the Odborů base at Mosaic House. Malá Strana gives the Letenská choice at Augustine. We compare those real addresses with details that change the stay, from a shower-only room to a suite spread over three levels.
Compare Old Town for Hotel Josef and its named balcony or extra-bed rooms, New Town for Mosaic House and its terrace choices, or Malá Strana for Augustine's specific suite layouts. Choose by the days you plan and the full room product. A terrace does not always include a winter bath, and a large suite can still take only two guests.
Old Town gives the first checked choice through Hotel Josef at Rybná 20. Use that street address when comparing the places you want to visit each day. Old Town is a useful broad label, but it does not put every hotel on the same block. Choose the actual guest door rather than treating all city-centre results as the same base for the walk back at night.
The current owner room list separates Josef Castle View, Balcony Rooms and Mini Castle View. Keep the full name if the outlook or outdoor space is part of the stay you want. A general photo of Prague Castle does not make that view part of every room offer. The named view product is more useful than a city-wide hotel description when this detail drives the choice.
The Balcony Rooms page gives city or garden views. It does not promise a castle outlook for every balcony. The owner lists a King bed and recommends a maximum of two guests for this product. Compare it as a specific shared-bed plan with outside seating. If the party needs more sleeping places, another room type may be more useful than simply choosing a balcony photograph.
The Mini Castle View gives a separate compact-room choice with a private balcony and a Queen bed in the room overview. Its own details give a walk-in shower. Choose it if the view and smaller room suit the stay, but do not borrow a bathtub from another category. A room can have the outlook you want while still giving a different bathing plan from a larger product.
The Lounger Sofa Room has a King bed and seating, with an extra-bed option. The owner's facts also describe a sofa bed and a maximum of three guests. Ask which extra sleeping setup will be made for your actual booking. The two descriptions should lead to a clear bed request, rather than a guess that every sofa shown is already a ready-made third sleeping place.
The Lounger description gives a tub or walk-in shower, so the category does not by itself settle which bath you receive. Ask for the format you need before choosing terms that may be hard to change. The same point applies to Balcony Rooms, whose owner page also uses bath-or-shower wording. If a tub is essential, keep that confirmation with the booking rather than only with a general hotel email.
For a shared stay, decide whether the group can use one main King bed and the confirmed added sleeping place. More seating by day may become a bed at night. That changes how the room works when guests have different hours. If a closed second bedroom is the main need, compare another full layout instead of expecting a sofa-room name to create a private sleeping room.
For arrival, use Rybná 20 as the destination after the airport or mainline train. A ticket to central Prague is only one part of the route. Choose the useful local station or stop, then check the last guest approach. If bags or steps affect the stay, ask about that full path rather than treating a hotel point in Old Town as proof of an easy route for every guest.
Choose the Old Town base when the street and room fit the days you will repeat. A small view-led room and a larger sharing room are different products, even under one hotel name. Put the exact beds beside the outlook and bathing choice. That gives a clearer short list than sorting the whole hotel as one balcony or family, or castle-view option.
New Town gives the comparison through Mosaic House Design Hotel at Odborů 4. Keep that guest address with the room choice. It is a different base from Hotel Josef on Rybná and from Augustine on Letenská. A broad Prague centre label should help narrow the search, but it should not erase the actual street you will return to during the stay.
The owner lists Standard Double/Twin and Comfort Double/Twin as different products. Standard gives a rainfall shower. Comfort adds space and a sofa while also listing a rainfall shower. The sofa is a seating feature in that description, not enough on its own to prove a made-up third bed. Ask about the allowed guest plan if the party needs more than the main beds.
Superior Double/Twin gives a different choice through a green balcony or terrace. That outdoor space belongs to the named product rather than all the hotel's rooms. Its list gives a bath or shower, so Superior does not guarantee a tub. Choose the bed format and bathing need before comparing the offer, especially if the terrace photograph first drew you to the hotel.
The Penthouse Suite gives a roof terrace and a named castle outlook. The owner also lists an outdoor bathtub with a clear limit: it is not used in winter. Keep that condition beside the room choice. A rooftop bath photograph can still describe a real feature without proving that it will be available for the date on which you plan to stay.
For a winter trip, compare the parts of the Penthouse you can actually use on the dates you have chosen. The outdoor-bath limit does not mean every other room feature disappears, but it changes the bathing choice. Ask about the current setup before paying for a stay built around that tub. Do not let a year-round room listing turn a seasonal feature into an all-season promise.
The Penthouse room list gives a double bed and a rainfall shower as well as the outdoor feature. It is a different plan from simply adding more guest places to a standard room. Read the allowed occupancy and bed setup on the actual offer. A suite with more space or a roof terrace does not automatically give another enclosed bedroom or beds for a larger group.
The hotel's site also links MOOo Downtown Apartments as another option with kitchens and separate bedrooms. It describes that stay as near Mosaic House. Those apartments should not be treated as kitchens inside the Standard or Comfort hotel rooms. If cooking or several bedrooms matter, keep the actual apartment property and address in the comparison, then read its own check-in and guest terms.
For hotel facilities, note that the owner describes fitness access at the sister property The Manes. That is a separate location, even if the stay includes use of it. A gym icon beside Mosaic House does not place every piece of equipment inside the same building. Ask about the current entry and route if using the gym forms a main part of the stay you want.
Choose the New Town base when Odborů fits the visits you will repeat and the exact room works for the party. The trade-off is less about choosing one area name than choosing which product meets the need. Standard shower rooms, Superior outdoor space and the seasonal rooftop bath are different offers. Compare those details with the actual arrival before treating the hotel as one shared bundle of features.
Malá Strana, also called Lesser Town, gives the third checked base through Augustine Hotel Prague at Letenská 12/33. Use the full street number because the owner and merchant both retain that paired-number form. It is a different guest street from the two choices across the river. Compare the places you plan to visit from this side before letting a broad historic-Prague label decide the stay.
The Tower Suite is a useful example of why a suite needs a floor plan. The owner places it over three levels linked by a spiral staircase. The living room is on the lower level, the bathroom in the middle and the bedroom at the top. That gives separate spaces, but the separation is vertical. It is not the same plan as a single-level suite with rooms along one corridor.
The Tower Suite lists one King bed and up to two guests. Its size and several levels do not add another allowed sleeping place. Choose it for the actual two-person plan rather than as a room for a larger party. If another guest needs a bed, compare a product whose stated occupancy and sleeping arrangement support that person from the start.
The spiral stairs are a practical part of the room choice. Think about moving between the bedroom and bath, as well as going up to enjoy the view. If internal steps do not suit the party, ask for a different exact layout. A hotel-wide access feature cannot remove the stairs described inside this specific suite, and a generic Suite filter may not show that distinction clearly.
The owner describes the Tower Suite's city outlook and separate bathtub and shower. Those features belong to this named product. Do not apply the same full view or multi-level plan to every room at Augustine. A photograph of the tower bedroom can help explain this suite, but it should not supply an outlook for a different category that only shares the hotel name.
The Moser Suite gives another layout. Its current owner description lists two bedrooms with a living room, dining space and private kitchen. That is a specific residential-style product, separate from the Tower Suite. Compare the exact guest limit and bed plan if you need two closed sleeping rooms. A two-bedroom description is more useful for that need than the general word Suite.
A private kitchen in Moser does not establish one in every Augustine room. Keep the named category on the booking if cooking space is part of the trip. Ask about the equipment you need and the actual arrival terms. More shared space and another bedroom can change how the stay works for guests with different hours, while a generic hotel amenity list may not show which room provides those features.
For arrival from the airport, the owner gives the trolleybus-to-Metro A approach and Malostranská as the local rail point for its directions. Use the current operator information as well as the hotel route. The final walk to Letenská still needs its own check. We do not turn the owner's approximate time into a promise that the route is equally easy for every traveller or every set of bags.
Choose the Malá Strana base when the actual street supports the visit and the room layout suits the guests. A historic setting can make the hotel appealing, but it should not replace the bed or stair check. The Tower and Moser products solve different needs. Put those room choices beside the repeated journeys so a broad preference for this side of Prague leads to a stay the party can use.
The diagram uses three licensed OpenStreetMap hotel points compared with the owner guest addresses. It shows the relative positions of the Old Town, New Town and Malá Strana choices. It does not draw the river crossings or station paths. Use the actual hotel directions for the final approach, including any steps or lift you need. A nearest-looking point is not a measured walking route.

Compare the hotel’s actual room category and beds, plus outlook rather than a shortened booking-site label. Information was checked in October 2026. Confirm any balcony, seasonal bath facility and internal suite steps for the particular offer you choose, since similar names can describe different layouts.
Hotel Josef
Best for: Old Town plans with a balcony, castle-view room or confirmed extra bed
Location: Rybná 20, Prague 1, 110 00
Official evidence: Balcony can face the city or garden; Mini Castle View is a distinct shower-only room.
Trade-off: A balcony does not guarantee a castle outlook or tub.
Before booking: Confirm full category and outlook, plus third-bed setup.
Prague arrivals: airport connection and the final guest street
Václav Havel Airport is connected to the metro by surface public transport. DPP's current guidance gives trolleybus 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín on Metro A and bus 100 to Zličín on Metro B. Choose the useful connection for the guest street. These are different links into the city, so a general airport-bus label is not enough to show where you will change for the hotel.
Keep the airport vehicle and the metro leg separate in the plan. Reaching Nádraží Veleslavín or Zličín does not yet mean you have reached the hotel area. Compare the full onward route and the actual final stop. If bags or steps affect the trip, use the operator's current route and ask about the guest approach rather than relying on an overall city-centre journey label.
The Airport Express is another product. DPP places it on a separate tariff and describes a route to the main railway station. Do not treat an ordinary city ticket as proof that the Airport Express is included. Read the current operator terms for the service you will use. We do not copy a fare into the guide or assume that every hotel airport-transfer icon describes this same bus.
For a mainline rail arrival, use the exact station on the train booking. A room in Prague centre can still need local transport and a final walk after the train arrives. Keep Rybná, Odborů or Letenská as the actual destination in the route plan. A hotel map pin should help place that door, but it does not choose the useful platform exit or onward stop for you.
For Augustine, the owner gives Malostranská within its airport route via trolleybus and Metro A. Read the current hotel approach from that local station. The last leg is part of the choice, especially if the party has bags or needs a route without steps. The broad Malá Strana label should not replace the actual Letenská entrance in the directions saved with the stay.
For Hotel Josef, keep Rybná 20 with the actual local route you choose. For Mosaic House, keep Odborů 4 and the hotel's own useful approach. Those guest streets sit at different hotel points, even though both can appear under central Prague. Compare the connection you will repeat instead of assuming that a single central-city transfer description will work equally well for both.
If arranging a hotel pickup, ask what the actual offer covers and where the driver meets you. An airport pickup is different from a station collection or a local hotel shuttle. We do not infer a fare or included transfer from the presence of an icon in a merchant listing. Confirm the airport terminal or train station and save that exact meeting point with the booking.
For departure, work back from the guest door to the airport terminal or onward rail platform. Check the actual service and direction for the date you leave. A useful arrival connection may need a different boarding point on the return. Leave fixed times and current fares to the operators, then allow for the full hotel-to-stop route rather than only the main vehicle leg.
Prague room choices for balconies, shared stays and internal stairs
For a first visit, choose the days you want to repeat and test them from the actual guest street. The best area to stay in Prague can be Old Town, New Town or Malá Strana for different plans. A historic-centre label alone cannot settle the choice. Put the room layout beside those journeys so the hotel works for both the people sharing it and the places they want to visit.
For a balcony-led stay, read the outlook separately from the outdoor-space label. Josef's Balcony Rooms can face the city or garden, while Mini Castle View is a distinct product. Mosaic House's Superior rooms give their own balcony or terrace choice. Decide which feature matters most before comparing the total. Outdoor seating and a named landmark view are separate promises, even when the same photograph seems to suggest both.
For a bath-led stay, read the actual bathroom and season. Josef's Mini Castle View lists a shower, while other named rooms use tub-or-shower wording. Mosaic House's Penthouse adds an outdoor bathtub that is not used in winter. Choose the room you can use on the stay dates. A bath pictured in a hotel gallery should not be transferred to every room or every month of the year.
For three guests, specify the third bed and the allowed guest count. Josef's Lounger Sofa Room has an extra sleeping option that needs a clear setup request. Augustine's Tower Suite, despite its three levels, lists only two guests. Room size and a Suite name cannot replace the bed plan. Ask where each person sleeps and keep that answer in the actual offer you choose.
For separate bedrooms, compare the full plan rather than the largest-looking photo. Augustine's Moser Suite lists two bedrooms with living and dining space. The Tower Suite separates functions across levels but has one bedroom. These products meet different needs for guests with different hours. Decide whether you need a closed second sleeping room or simply more shared space before letting a broad suite search rank them together.
For access needs, read steps inside the room as well as the route into the hotel. Augustine's Tower Suite is arranged around a spiral staircase. A lift elsewhere in the property does not turn that named room into a single-level stay. Ask about another exact category if stairs do not fit the party. The choice should work for trips between bed and bath, as well as the first arrival with luggage.
For cooking space or a gym-led stay, keep the actual property location beside the feature. Mosaic House links nearby apartments with kitchens and a sister hotel's fitness space. Those are separate places, even when a related stay or included facility can be useful. Read the address and access terms for the exact product, so a general hotel amenity list does not quietly move the feature into your booked room or building.
Before you choose a room
Choose Old Town, New Town or Malá Strana by the actual guest street.
Keep the full room name for the view and outdoor space.
Confirm bath or shower and any winter limit on an outdoor tub.
Name each sleeping place for the guests in the room.
Read internal stairs and the route between bedroom and bath.
Keep separate apartments and sister-hotel facilities at their actual addresses.
Match the airport product with the final stop and return route.
Open the hotel you chose on Trip.com and check the exact room before you pay.
This is desk research from the sources linked below, with hotel location and feature checks in October 2026. We have not stayed at or tested these hotels. The area choices express our judgment about trip fit. No price, availability, safety grade or service rating is implied.
Hotel Josef: current room overview and address: Hotel Josef gives its Rybná address and distinguishes castle-view and balcony, plus lounger products, so check the exact room name if the outlook matters.
Hotel Josef: Balcony Rooms: The Balcony Room lists a king for two recommended guests with city or garden views, while the actual bath or shower still needs confirmation.
Hotel Josef: Lounger Sofa Room layout: The Lounger description lists a king and an extra-bed option for up to three, so confirm the sofa setup rather than assume all seating becomes a bed.
Hotel Josef: Mini Castle View: The Mini Castle View describes a queen for two with a private balcony and walk-in shower, which distinguishes it from Josef's other balcony products.
Mosaic House Design Hotel: Mosaic House gives its Odborů address and distinguishes nearby apartments and a sister-hotel gym, so do not assume every facility sits inside the main hotel.
Augustine: current address and local arrival: Augustine gives its Malá Strana address and an airport route via bus and Metro A, which still needs a dated connection and final hotel approach.
Augustine: Tower Suite floors and guest limit: The Tower Suite has three levels joined by a spiral stair with a king for two, making stairs a material part of this particular room choice.
Augustine: Moser Suite bedrooms and kitchen: The Moser Suite describes two bedrooms with private kitchen and living space, so compare that named layout rather than transfer its facilities to other suites.
DPP: airport public transport and fare distinction: DPP separates airport buses to different metro lines from Airport Express's main-station route and tariff, so choose the service for your actual destination.
Prague Airport: current transport services: Prague Airport provides current public transport links, which you should check for the dated route and final approach rather than rely on a fixed fare or duration.
OpenStreetMap: Hotel Josef location: The map shows Hotel Josef in Prague so you can compare locations; ask the property which entrance to use with your luggage.
A dated check records what the source said at that point. It does not guarantee that the stay or route is unchanged. If you spot an error, send the page and the correction. We can then recheck the affected hotel or area, or arrival note.
Compare Old Town at Hotel Josef, New Town at Mosaic House or Malá Strana at Augustine. Choose the actual guest street by the trips you plan to repeat, then read the exact room layout. A general central label cannot settle the beds or final arrival.
Does every Hotel Josef Balcony Room have a castle view?
No. The owner gives city or garden views for Balcony Rooms. Mini Castle View and Josef Castle View are named products in the room list. Keep the full room name if that particular outlook is the reason to book.
Does Josef Mini Castle View have a bathtub?
Its room details list a walk-in shower. Other Josef room types use bath-or-shower wording, so do not borrow their possible tub for this product. Confirm the actual room if the bathroom is a deciding part of the stay.
Can I use the Mosaic House rooftop bath in winter?
The owner lists the Penthouse outdoor bathtub with a clear note that it is not used during winter. Check the actual dates and room setup before booking for that feature. The room terrace and indoor rainfall shower are separate features from an available outdoor bath.
Are Mosaic House apartments kitchens inside the hotel rooms?
The owner links MOOo Downtown Apartments as a separate nearby stay with kitchens and bedrooms. Do not assign that kitchen to a Standard or Comfort hotel room. Read the actual property address and category if cooking space is a main need.
Is Augustine Tower Suite one level for more than two guests?
No. The owner describes three levels linked by a spiral staircase and lists one King bed with up to two guests. The living room is below the bath and top bedroom. Choose another full layout if internal stairs or the guest limit do not suit the party.
Does an ordinary city ticket cover Prague Airport Express?
DPP describes Airport Express as a separate-tariff product to the main railway station. Do not assume the terms of the ordinary airport bus or trolleybus apply to it. Check the actual operator ticket for the service and journey you choose.
Verdict: where to stay in Prague
Choose where to stay in Prague through the actual guest street and the room you can use. Compare Old Town, New Town and Malá Strana, then confirm the view and bath. Read the guest limit and any internal stairs before choosing a suite. Keep seasonal facilities and separate property addresses clear, and plan the final airport or rail approach with the return journey too.
Open the hotel you chose on Trip.com and check the exact room before you pay.
