Choose Where to Stay: Morocco City Guides

By Best Area To Stay In editorial desk ·

The short answer

Choose a Marrakech setting first: the Medina for the old quarter, Guéliz for the new city or Hivernage for a hotel-led stay.

Find your Marrakech setting

The Marrakech area guide compares the Medina with Guéliz and Hivernage. Use it to choose the surroundings you want near your room. Then look at the checked hotel in that area, its room types and the questions to ask before booking.

A hotel choice needs a real address

The Medina covers more than one street or entrance. Our guide checks a named hotel on Rue de la Koutoubia. It does not use that hotel's location to make promises about every riad. If you choose a different building, ask it for the current drop-off point and final approach.

The new-city choices need their own checks too. A balcony, pool view or sofa bed belongs to a specific hotel and room category. Confirm the beds and guest limit for your party. Choose the district for your plans, then the room for the stay you need.

The city page links district facts to Morocco's tourist office and hotel facts to the owners. It shows when they were checked. Travel links point to the airport or rail operator for current planning. We do not claim first-hand stays or tested transfer times.

If a detail needs a closer look, send the page and a source. For another destination, return to the city and country finder. Each guide has its own area choices rather than a single list of rules for every country.
