The diagram uses Accor's published ibis Styles coordinates and licensed OpenStreetMap hotel points for Mr. Jordaan and Hotel Fita. The Fita point carries a Van de Veldestraat label in OSM, while the owner gives Jan Luijkenstraat 37. Treat it as an approximate location, not the entrance. Centraal is a broad station reference, with no route or walking time inferred.
Schiphol: compare the full route to your hotel, not just Centraal. Hotel points and the station marker show locations, not guest entrances, accessible approaches, district boundaries or walking times.

The choice of where to stay in Amsterdam is easier when you separate a rail-friendly base from the setting you want between journeys. Near Centraal puts the station first. The Jordaan gives you a canal-neighbourhood base.
The Museum Quarter puts more weight on museum days. Each can work for a first visit, but they solve different parts of the trip. Check the actual street and room type once you have chosen that priority.
Choose near Centraal for a short rail stop or a stay with several onward journeys. Pick the Jordaan when the canal-neighbourhood setting matters most. Compare the Museum Quarter for plans around Museumplein and Oud-Zuid. A canal-side hotel does not mean every room has a canal view, and a museum address does not include admission. Choose the area first, then check the room and arrival route.

Compare the checked Amsterdam hotels
A base near Amsterdam Centraal is useful when the train journey shapes the stay. That can mean an overnight stop, a late arrival or several day trips by rail. The gain is a simpler start and end to those travel days. It does not mean that every sight sits by the station, or that the rest of the city offers no useful rail arrival.
The checked property here is ibis Styles Amsterdam Central Station at Martelaarsgracht 10. Keep that full name and street together. It is a different hotel from similarly named station-area listings, including ibis Amsterdam Centre. The Styles name does not put the room inside Centraal. Use the address to choose the right exit and final approach.
Accor lists air conditioning and breakfast at this property. Check the terms of the room rate rather than assuming breakfast is part of every booking. If you want to use a particular hotel feature, look at this hotel's own page. A familiar brand name is too broad to settle what the building provides.
Choose this area if its travel value will recur during the stay. If you only pass through Centraal once and then spend several days near the museums, weigh that against your daily plans. The best arrival on the first day may not be the best base for the next four. Compare the whole itinerary before making the station the deciding feature.

The Jordaan is our setting-led choice when you want the neighbourhood around the room to be part of the stay. I amsterdam's area guide points to its canal streets and places around Noordermarkt. Choose it because you want to spend time in that setting, rather than because an area list declares it best for every visitor.
Mr. Jordaan anchors this choice at Bloemgracht 102. The owner places it on Bloemgracht just off Prinsengracht. That is a specific base within the wider neighbourhood, not a promise that any listing with Jordaan in its description has the same approach. Save the street and door details when you plan the arrival.
The owner's room page separates Standard Double from Small Double Canal View and Large Double Canal View. That is a useful booking distinction. If watching the canal from the room is part of why you chose Amsterdam, book the category that actually states it. A photo of the building beside water is not enough.
The hotel also says parking is not possible at Bloemgracht. If you arrive by car, arrange parking and the last leg before the trip. For a car-free stay, compare the walk from the stop your planner suggests, especially with bags. Ask about the specific room's lift or stair access if that could decide the booking.

Compare the Museum Quarter when your trip is built around the museums rather than just a first look at the centre. I amsterdam places major museums in the Oud-Zuid visitor setting. A hotel here can fit the hours before and after those visits. It is a different priority from choosing the easiest walk off a train at Centraal.
Hotel Fita is the checked option at Jan Luijkenstraat 37. The owner identifies its Museum Quarter location and publishes different room types. Look at the bed configuration in the type you intend to book. A single room, twin room and double room solve different needs even when they share a good area for your plans.
The hotel says you can leave luggage before the room is ready or on departure day. That may help you use a museum day between travel legs. Confirm the current arrangement with the hotel, and keep valuables or other things you need with you. The option is useful without being a reason to skip the room's own capacity and access checks.
Staying near museums does not settle entry or reservations. Check the museum's own booking requirements for your dates, separately from the hotel. Then compare your airport route to Jan Luijkenstraat directly. You do not need to choose a Centraal transfer solely because that station appears in many first-arrival guides.

Use the hotel and station map with its full address legend above. It shows relative positions, not street routes or walking times.
Compare each area through the hotel’s particular address and room, plus drawback. Information was checked in October 2026. Confirm the full category and terms for your dates before booking, including any bed request or outlook, or facility that makes the location useful to you.

Check Hotel Fita on Trip.com Check this stay against your needsSchiphol's official train page is the starting source for a rail arrival from the airport. Use the current NS planner for the actual service and destination. Centraal is useful for the station-side option here, but it is not the only name that may appear in a route to an Amsterdam hotel. Plan to the exact address before choosing a transfer.
For the Jordaan or Museum Quarter, compare the whole journey with the GVB planner as well as the airport rail leg. Enter the street address and your date. Check any changes, the final stop and the remaining walk. A route that looks simple without bags may feel different at the end of a late flight.
At Centraal, use the exit that fits your destination. The ibis Styles is on Martelaarsgracht; Mr. Jordaan is on Bloemgracht. Those streets are more useful in saved directions than a broad central-Amsterdam label. Our station map point does not identify an exit or an accessible path.
For an early flight, check the return route on the date you will use it. The airport describes overnight rail options, but that does not promise a direct service from every stop at every hour. Work backward from your airport arrival requirement. Then decide whether a central city hotel fits the travel day, rather than assuming any station-area stay solves it.
Planning sources: Schiphol: travel by train, GVB: journey planner. Checked October 2026.
For a first visit, choose the part of the city that you want to use between the headline sights. The Jordaan is our setting-led choice in this shortlist. Near Centraal puts travel convenience first. The Museum Quarter suits an itinerary that gives museums more than a passing visit. None of those priorities is a grade for the city as a whole.
For a family or friends travelling together, start with real beds and room capacity. Mr. Jordaan publishes a triple room, while Fita lists several different room types. Check the category and the ages of your guests with the hotel. A neighbourhood often described as good for families does not make a double room large enough for an extra person.
For a canal-view stay, be precise about the view you are buying. The Jordaan has canal streets, but a rear-facing room can still be in the same hotel as a canal-view room. If the outlook is essential, use the category that states it and confirm any unclear wording before payment.
For a car, solve parking before you choose the hotel. Mr. Jordaan's owner specifically rules out parking at Bloemgracht. A city-centre location and a place to leave a car are separate questions. Do not assume a parking filter means a space at the hotel's own door or within the room price.
If your plans centre on De Pijp, compare a specific hotel there rather than treating the Museum Quarter as the same place. Check the actual street and beds, plus late return against these three bases. Choose the journeys you will repeat, since a short list does not cover every useful Amsterdam stay.
Choose whether rail days, the canal setting or museums matter most.
Save the complete hotel name and street address.
Confirm any canal-view wording in the room category.

Compare the Jordaan for its canal-neighbourhood setting, near Centraal for rail convenience or the Museum Quarter for museum-led days. Choose the place you want to use between journeys and sights. Then check the exact hotel address and room category. A first-visit label does not make one area the right base for every itinerary.
Choose near Centraal when your stay includes several train trips or short travel days. Compare the Museum Quarter if your days focus around Museumplein. Check a full airport route to the booked hotel rather than assuming every journey must pass through Centraal. The useful choice depends on the trips you will repeat.
No. The checked Mr. Jordaan hotel separates Standard Double from its Canal View categories.
Read the exact room name and confirm the outlook if it matters to you. A canal-side building can contain rooms with other views. The neighbourhood setting and the view from your bed are separate parts of the booking.
You can plan with Schiphol's rail information and the NS and GVB journey planners. Check the whole route to your hotel, including the final walk and any access needs. For an early flight, use your actual departure date. For the Jordaan option here, the owner also says parking at Bloemgracht is not possible.
Decide where to stay in Amsterdam by choosing the part of the stay you want to make easiest. Near Centraal fits rail days, the Jordaan offers a canal-neighbourhood setting and the Museum Quarter fits museum plans. Then choose the room by its stated view and bed layout. The area makes a shortlist; the street and category settle the booking.
