Choose where to stay in Seoul through the setting you want each day. Myeongdong gives a centre-led starting point. Insadong offers a different base near Ikseon-dong.

Hongdae puts its local arts and evening scene first. We compare one checked hotel in each area, then look at room layouts and the full airport journey. A district name alone cannot settle either.

Start with Myeongdong for a centre-led first visit. Compare Insadong when the Ikseon-dong setting and plans around Jongno appeal. Airport trains have different stopping patterns, so the service you choose must suit the station you need.

Where to stay in Seoul: area choices

Myeongdong around Namdaemun-ro

Myeongdong is our starting comparison for a centre-led visit. The checked hotel is ibis Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong on Namdaemun-ro. Accor places it in the district and identifies Euljiro 1-ga among its transport references. Use that real address to compare your plans rather than treating every central hotel as the same base.

The full street is 78 Namdaemun-ro in Jung-gu. Save the name and address together. Seoul has several ibis properties, including another hotel with Myeongdong in its name. A brand or district search can produce the wrong building, so match the actual street before planning the arrival or comparing a room.

The owner lists a standard category with three single beds. That is a concrete choice for a party wanting separate beds rather than a shared double and an extra sleeping place. Check the actual category and guest limit for your dates. A three-person search does not by itself tell you whether each person gets the bed setup they want.

Accor also lists a hot bath. Treat that as the named facility, rather than reading it as a swimming-pool claim. Confirm guest access and current conditions if it matters to the stay. Then weigh the room and hotel setting against the journeys to your main plans, including any evenings spent in another part of Seoul.

Insadong near Ikseon-dong

Compare Insadong when you want this part of Jongno around the hotel each day. Accor places ibis Ambassador Seoul Insadong near Ikseon-dong Hanok Village and identifies local station references. That is a different base from the Namdaemun-ro hotel. Start with the streets and places you plan to use, then compare the other journeys from here.

The hotel's street is 31 Samil-daero 30-gil. Keep the full address rather than stopping at Insadong. A broad area name does not select a station exit or tell you the final walk with luggage. If an entrance detail matters, ask about the actual route before choosing the room.

The owner lists Premium Family & Friends formats with either separate single beds or a double and a single. These are different sleeping arrangements. Confirm which category is on the booking and how it fits your party. Proximity to a hanok village also does not mean this modern hotel room has the layout of a traditional house.

Coin laundry appears in the owner's facilities list. It may help if this is one stop in a longer trip, but check use conditions rather than assuming it is included or available at every hour. The useful comparison is whether the setting and facilities help your own stay. We do not use them to label every street here quiet or every hotel suitable for every family.

Hongdae around Hongik University station

Choose Hongdae when its local plans are part of the stay. Accor describes the area's arts and music setting and places Mercure Ambassador Seoul Hongdae near Hongik University station. That gives the choice a clear daily purpose beyond the airport ride. Compare it with the centre-led options if your main plans instead sit around those hotel streets.

The hotel is at 144 Yanghwa-ro in Mapo-gu. Use that exact address when matching the arrival route. A nearby station can have several approaches, and the useful exit depends on where you leave the train. Do not read an exit reference in a hotel description as proof that every part of the approach meets your access needs.

The owner lists a Superior category with three single beds, as well as other layouts. Compare it if separate beds are a priority. Coin laundry is also listed among the hotel facilities. Check both the category and current use conditions, rather than treating the hotel's full feature list as a package included in every rate.

The airport-rail context needs a service check. Visit Seoul distinguishes an express service between Incheon and Seoul Station from an all-stop service. If you intend to use Hongik University, check the stopping pattern before choosing the train. A hotel near an airport-rail station does not make every airport train the right one.

Checked hotel choices in Seoul

Compare these settings through the full room layout and guest street, checked in October 2026. Keep the drawback beside the feature that appeals, then confirm the exact category and essential facilities for your dates. The best daily base still needs a room the whole party can use.

Seoul arrivals: airport, service type and station exit

Check whether your flight uses Incheon or Gimpo, then save the terminal and hotel address together. Incheon Airport's official rail guide identifies transport-centre references for its terminals. Follow the current information for your actual terminal. A route from one airport is not an arrival plan for the other.

Visit Seoul distinguishes AREX express and all-stop services. The express links Incheon with Seoul Station without the intermediate stops described for the all-stop train. Check the current service you need before buying a ticket. Do not assume an express train is the right one merely because the hotel is near an airport-rail station.

For Hongdae, plan the arrival at Hongik University and the final approach to Yanghwa-ro. For the centre-led hotels, compare the full route to Namdaemun-ro or Samil-daero 30-gil. A railway ride to Seoul Station is not automatically the last step to every hotel. Check the connection and actual exit before deciding the route works with bags.

Use current operating information for the travel date and required hour. Some official tourism pages retain old fare and duration tables; we do not use those figures as current promises. A stable station reference and a dated fare are different kinds of information. Check the actual departure rather than relying on a broad daytime description.

Plan the return for the correct airport and terminal. If an early flight is the only difficult leg, compare that morning with the setting you want for the rest of the visit. If repeated rail journeys shape the stay, give them more weight. Then choose the room with its bed setup and entrance needs confirmed.

For a group needing separate beds, compare the named categories before choosing by area. A three-person filter can also return rooms with a shared double, which solves a different need.

For a longer itinerary, coin laundry may be useful at the Insadong or Hongdae hotel. Check current access and charges directly. That can be a more practical feature than an amenity you will never use. Weigh it with the room and repeated routes rather than treating a long facilities list as a reason to book on its own.
