Where to stay in Portland: area choices

Southwest Broadway: Heathman

Choose the Heathman when its Southwest Broadway address fits the city days you have planned. It is at 1001 SW Broadway. Put that point beside your theatre visits and other booked plans. A downtown hotel can serve a short city break well when those repeated routes work for you. It does not make every part of Portland a short walk from the room.

The Heathman gives several clear sleeping plans. Its ordinary Queen Guestroom and King Guestroom each list two guests with one main bed. Deluxe Double Guestroom lists two double beds and four guests. Those doubles are distinct from queens at some other hotels on this shortlist. Select the named two-double product if separate main beds are the need you are solving.

A room with a double bed and a room with two doubles are easy to confuse in a shortened booking label. Use the full Deluxe Double Guestroom name and the actual bed count. Ask the hotel to accept every guest and age in that offer. Do not leave the bed arrangement as a general preference. The right confirmation should say what your party will sleep on.

For four people, two double beds and a king with a sofa sleeper give different nights. Friends may prefer two main beds, while a family may want a door between the adults and children. Decide which need matters more before you pay for a suite. A higher room category does not automatically improve the sleeping plan for every party. Choose the layout you will actually use.

The One Bedroom Suite explicitly lists a king in a separate bedroom. Its living room has a sleeper sectional, and the owner gives the suite a four-person limit. That is a useful closed-bedroom plan to examine. Ask about the sleeper’s size and the route to the bathroom. A separate bedroom is meaningful, but it is not a second private bedroom for the sofa guests.

The Studio Suite is a different product, with a king and sofa bed in a more open plan. It also lists four guests. More total space does not give the same door layout as the One Bedroom Suite. If one guest will work while another sleeps, the closed bedroom may be the more useful feature. Ask for the actual floor plan rather than comparing suite size alone.

Penthouse Suite is another named product with a king-and-sofa description and four-person limit. Its size does not raise that cap. If you are considering it for a group, have every sleeping place explained. Do not assume an extra private bedroom from the word penthouse. Ask about the bathroom arrangement and any features that justify the larger room for your particular stay.

For two people who share a king, the ordinary king products may already serve the trip. A suite adds living space, with a different total price. Think about how often you will return between visits and whether you will use that space. A pair out most of the day may value the address more than a separate lounge. A pair spending more time indoors may decide differently.

The current room list describes city views and different positions within the hotel. Ask for the exact outlook attached to your offer if it matters. A broad downtown-view statement does not prove every room faces the same way. Nor does a higher floor by itself establish a better fit for your needs. Keep the real room position with the selected bed plan.

The owner’s room descriptions use quiet and restful language, but we have not tested room sound. Ask about the actual side and floor, with any current events or work on your dates. Tell the hotel if you need daytime rest or early nights. A corner room can be the view you want while still needing that specific sound check. We do not replace a room reply with a general downtown judgment.

The Heathman lists mobility- and hearing-access rooms. Those are different kinds of features to match with your own needs. Ask which actual room has the bathroom and bed approach you require. A hearing feature does not prove a step-free shower. Keep the whole party and main beds in the same request so the final offer fits everyone together.

Then add the approach from the arrival vehicle or transit stop. Ask about the path to reception and the route to the assigned room. A bedroom can meet your needs while the street-to-door leg still needs planning. We have not surveyed every entrance. The hotel’s specific route answer is more useful than a general badge on a booking page.

Compare the selected rate with all current charges. Ask about parking if you will bring a car, and keep the actual method with the total cost. A city room price without parking may compare differently from a Northwest suite with a parking benefit. That does not settle which base is better for your trip. It lets you compare the room and journeys you really intend to use.

Read the offer’s deposit and cancellation terms before choosing an advance rate. A room that suits a firm theatre weekend may be less useful for dates that could change. Keep the exact deadline with the amount at risk. Do not infer free cancellation from a general hotel label. The actual rate is the product you will buy.

Choose the Heathman when the Broadway address and its named sleeping plan fit the stay. Deluxe Double gives two real doubles for four. One Bedroom Suite gives a separate king bedroom and a sleeper sectional for four, while Studio Suite has a different layout. Confirm the bathroom and privacy you need. Then match the room to the full PDX arrival and daily return.

Northwest: Inn at Northrup Station

Choose Inn at Northrup Station when its Northwest location fits your meals and repeated outings. The owner places it in the Nob Hill and Slabtown area. Its full address is 2025 NW Northrup Street. Keep that specific point beside the places you plan to visit. It is a distinct base from the hotel cluster on Southwest Broadway.

The suite list has a kitchen difference that can decide a longer stay. King Suite has a king bed and a full-size sleeper sofa, with a fully equipped kitchen. Double Queen Suite has two queens and a twin-size sleeper sofa, with a kitchenette. Those are different cooking and sleeping plans. The word suite should not blur them into one product.

The King Suite kitchen explicitly includes a range and microwave, with a refrigerator and dishwasher. It also lists cookware and housewares. That makes it a more specific meal-preparation option than a room with a coffee maker. Ask about any item you need that is not named. A useful kitchen is one that supports the meals you actually plan to make.

Double Queen Suite lists a microwave and mini-fridge, with a dishwasher and housewares. It does not list the King Suite’s range or full refrigerator. Keep it as the kitchenette product the owner describes. Two main queens may be the stronger sleeping plan for your group, but that does not add the other suite’s kitchen. Decide which need carries more weight for your stay.

Both listed suite types have a maximum of four occupants. Keep that cap in the comparison even though Double Queen Suite also lists a twin sleeper. Two queens plus a small sofa place do not create permission for five guests. Give the hotel every age and have the full party accepted. The furniture list and the guest limit must work together.

The full-size sleeper in King Suite is also distinct from the twin sleeper in Double Queen Suite. Ask who will use the sofa and whether its size fits them. If two friends want separate main beds, two queens may solve that directly. If a pair wants a kitchen and an occasional sofa place, the king product may fit better. The more useful room depends on the real sleepers.

These suites are described as closer to urban studio apartments than standard hotel rooms. Do not turn that description into two private bedrooms. A sitting area can be useful during the day without giving a door between everyone at night. Ask for the actual layout if different bedtimes matter. The amount of floor space cannot tell you where the sleeping zones close off.

The adapted King Suite keeps the king and full-size sleeper, with a full kitchen and roll-in shower. That is a specific product to discuss if you need those features together. Ask about the bed height and approach, then the shower and toilet route. Confirm the exact room rather than assuming the standard King Suite is adapted. Keep the same four-person cap with it.

The owner lists a parking pass as a stay benefit. Its home page says spaces in the lot are first come, first served. A pass is therefore not a guaranteed reserved space waiting for every arrival. Ask about the actual plan if your car must be close to the room. Keep any alternative with the current hotel instructions rather than an old street-parking statement.

Breakfast and Portland Streetcar tickets are other listed benefits. Ask what the current breakfast includes and how many guests are covered. For the tickets, check which service and period they cover. Do not turn a streetcar benefit into free travel on every regional line. Airport MAX service needs its own current fare and journey plan unless a specific valid ticket covers it.

That distinction matters when you compare a stay without a car. The streetcar can be part of your city route, but the actual stops and direction still need checking. Put the hotel and your destination into the current operator planner. Keep the last return after an evening out. A nearby track is not the same as a direct ride to every place you will visit.

The inn sets a minimum check-in age of twenty-one. A young adult group should check that rule early, before getting attached to a room plan. Give the property the actual booking and arrival party. A room that sleeps four does not remove the lead-guest age condition. Choose a property that can accept the actual guests and check-in arrangement.

The owner says it does not accept ordinary pets. Keep that rule with the suite choice. A kitchen and larger room do not make the room pet-friendly. If a dog is part of the trip, use an accepted room at another hotel under its current terms. Do not rely on a broad search filter that conflicts with the owner’s policy.

Room rates are based on double occupancy, with added-guest terms in the policy. A four-person limit does not mean the headline rate is always for four. Put every guest into the offer when comparing the full bill. Check the actual cancellation terms as well, especially for an extended reservation. Longer stays have their own contact requirement in the owner’s policy.

We have not tested sound in the suites. Ask about the room position and current street or property events if sleep timing is important. A Northwest setting and a studio-style layout do not establish quiet. The same care applies to any requested patio or balcony. Get the actual room features agreed rather than importing them from a different photo.

Choose Northrup when the real Northwest base and suite equipment fit the stay. King Suite is the full-kitchen option with a full-size sleeper. Double Queen Suite gives two main queens and a twin sleeper, with a kitchenette. Keep the four-person cap and first-come parking limit visible. Then arrange the journey from your flight’s airport and each daily return to Northrup Street.

Central Eastside: Jupiter NEXT

Choose Jupiter NEXT for a Central Eastside stay at 900 E Burnside Street. Keep it distinct from Jupiter Original at 800 E Burnside Street. Both use the NEXT lobby for check-in, but they are different buildings with different rooms. The exact product matters when you compare a booking search. A shared hotel brand does not make the two stays interchangeable.

The owner describes NEXT as a building with interior hallways, while Original is the converted motor-lodge property. Choose the building you mean in the actual offer. A room name from Original should not be used to describe NEXT. Likewise, a general review of the wider Jupiter may not answer a question about your selected room. The current owner room page is the starting point here.

The XX is the named two-queen room at NEXT. That gives two real main beds to compare with Heathman’s doubles or Northrup’s queens. Ask the hotel to accept the full party and ages in that room. A two-bed description alone should not be used to invent a larger guest cap. Keep the actual offer with the people who will sleep there.

The X is the one-king option on the current list. Next Level X is a king product on the top floor, with its own city-view emphasis. Choose the full category if the higher position is why you would pay more. A request for a high floor on The X is less specific than the named Next Level product. Ask what actual outlook the offer confirms.

XL Corner Suite gives a larger king room with extra seating and bar space. The room list calls it a king product. Its extra seating is not proof of a sofa bed or a second bedroom. If a third person would sleep there, ask for the actual accepted arrangement. More space and a larger name cannot supply a bed the room page has not named.

For two pairs who want private rooms, compare confirmed extra rooms rather than assuming the corner suite closes off into two bedrooms. If you want a connecting pair, ask whether such a pairing exists for your dates. Do not use a suite label to create the connection. A room plan that fits four people behind one door is still different from two private bedrooms. Choose through the privacy you need.

The owner lists mini-fridges in NEXT rooms. That can help with drinks and simple food, but it does not give a full kitchen. A bar surface in XL Corner Suite is not a range or cooking area. If cooking matters on a longer stay, compare the named full-kitchen King Suite at Northrup. Keep that equipment difference visible beside the main beds.

The fifth-floor Perch and other patios are shared property spaces. They should not become a private bedroom balcony in your notes. If you want outdoor space attached only to your room, ask the hotel whether the selected product provides it. A photograph taken from the Perch may show a view you can enjoy without proving your bedroom has that same outlook. Keep private and shared space clear.

The hotel describes Hey Love in the NEXT lobby, with food and drink on site. Its policies also say property events can bring noise or minor disruption. We have not tested sound in the bedrooms. Ask about the actual room position and events on your dates if early nights matter. Do not assume that NEXT’s interior hallways guarantee quiet.

The Original and NEXT distinction is especially useful for that sound question. The owner openly describes Original as a lively setting. It gives NEXT a different building and room format, but we have not measured a sound difference between them. Ask about the room you are buying. A competitor’s guess that one should be quieter is not evidence we use to promise it.

Paid parking is first come, first served. The owner describes an outdoor lot and an underground option with different prices. Ask about the current terms and actual route from the car to the NEXT lobby. All guests check in there before parking with the issued permit. A short loading-zone stop is not an overnight parking space.

The FAQ also describes a destination fee. Ask for the current amount and what is included in the selected rate. Add parking and any pet charge where they apply. A room headline without those items is not the total stay. Compare the full cost of the accepted room and transport with the other bases.

Pets are welcomed under a policy with a limit and a fee, with prior approval needed beyond the normal limit. Tell the hotel about the actual animals. Keep the accepted room and current terms with that answer. Do not treat a broad welcome as permission for any number of pets. We do not use the policy’s legal language to make separate claims about assistance animals.

For access needs, get the exact room and entry route checked. Ask about the bathroom features you use and the path from the vehicle. The lobby being in NEXT does not settle every room feature upstairs. A shared patio may also have its own approach to check. Keep the whole stay route together rather than stopping at an access badge.

Choose Jupiter NEXT when the actual Burnside base and main beds fit most of the trip. The XX is the two-queen option. The X and Next Level X are king choices, while XL Corner adds space without a proved extra bed. Keep shared outdoor areas distinct from a private balcony. Then confirm the full price and return from your west-side plans.

Lloyd: Hotel Eastlund, NE Grand

Choose Hotel Eastlund when the Oregon Convention Center or other Lloyd-area plans shape the stay. Its address is 1021 NE Grand Avenue. Put the actual venue entrance beside that point, with the route you will use at the time you will travel. The hotel’s broad downtown wording does not move it to the west side of the river. Use the real address when comparing it with the Heathman.

The room list has clear king and queen choices. Premier City Queens and Deluxe Queen each list two queen beds. King categories list one California king. Keep those main-bed alternatives in the actual offer. A group that needs two fixed beds should not accept an unspecified king and hope a sofa will appear.

King Plus is the specific king-and-sofa product. The owner lists one California king and a queen-size pull-out sofa sleeper. That is different from a room with two fixed queens. Ask about the space when the sofa is open and the ages the room will accept. The useful comparison shows where each guest sleeps, rather than calling both plans two-bed rooms.

Junior Suite lists one king, despite its larger floor space. Do not import the King Plus sleeper into it. Ask about any extra sleeping place if your party has more than two people. A junior-suite label is not proof of a sofa bed. If the extra guest’s place is essential, choose a product that actually confirms it.

Premier City Suite has a living room with a sliding wall. It lists one king and a bathroom with dual sinks and a walk-in shower. That can serve a need for separate living space. It does not prove a second main bed. Ask what the sliding wall closes off if bedroom privacy is the reason for the upgrade.

That wall layout is worth comparing with Heathman’s One Bedroom Suite. Both may offer useful separation, but the Heathman names a sleeper sectional while Eastlund’s City Suite lists the king. Choose through the actual people who will use the spaces. A living room that works for a pair during the day may not solve a third person’s night. Keep furniture and accepted sleeping places distinct.

The hotel policy caps rooms at four, depending on room type. Keep that room-type condition attached to the number. It is not a blanket four-person allowance for every king or suite. Give the hotel all ages and ask it to accept the specific room. Extra-occupant charges may also apply under the current terms.

For a family, two queens and King Plus may both be worth checking, but they give different sleeping routines. A sofa sleeper may need opening and folding each day. Two fixed beds use the room differently from a bed and sofa. Ask about the actual floor plan if space around the beds matters. A room size number alone cannot tell you how the open sleeper changes the path.

The adapted room list is specific too. Accessible Queens has two queens and a roll-in shower with grab bars and a hand-held spray. Accessible City King and Accessible Junior Suite give different one-king choices with listed shower features. Ask for the exact room whose beds and bathroom meet your needs. Do not transfer a feature from one adapted category into another without confirmation.

The accessible City Suite has its own room and bath description. If the living-space separation matters, ask how that actual adapted layout works. Keep the route from reception and the vehicle with the room request. We have not surveyed those routes. A well-described shower still needs a usable approach to the bed and the rest of the stay.

The owner’s policy sets a minimum registration age of twenty-one. Check that early for a younger group attending an event. A ticket to an event and a room that can sleep the group do not remove the hotel’s lead-guest condition. Ask about the actual arrival party and booking holder. Choose a confirmed arrangement before buying a firm hotel rate.

On-site parking is valet only. The policy gives limits for oversized or special vehicles and asks guests to discuss those needs in advance. Tell the hotel what you will drive. Do not arrive assuming any vehicle will fit the standard parking plan. Include the current full charge and any charging cost if you need it.

The hotel also asks that bikes are stored through guest services rather than in bedrooms. If cycling is part of your stay, ask about the actual storage and retrieval process. A bike-friendly city does not mean you can put a bicycle in any hotel room. Keep the property’s current plan with your equipment. The room you select should still work once the bike is stored where the hotel accepts it.

Ordinary pets are not accepted under the published policy. Keep that rule with your shortlist before choosing a room for an event weekend. A larger suite does not create a pet exception. If you will travel with a dog, compare an accepted product at another property. The full party includes needs that a bed count alone cannot settle.

Read the selected rate’s cancellation and early-departure terms. The owner distinguishes ordinary cancellation wording from non-refundable prepay reservations. Do not treat a general deadline as permission to change every rate. If an event date could change, compare the actual money at risk. Keep the charge and cutoff with the room offer.

Choose Eastlund when the NE Grand Avenue location and actual room plan fit your stay. Named queen rooms give two main queens. King Plus gives a king with a queen sofa sleeper, while Junior and City Suite each list one king; check the exact room offered. Confirm the accepted party and any sliding-wall privacy. Then arrange the complete PDX and evening return.

Plan the complete PDX arrival and city return

Start with Portland International Airport, PDX, if that is the airport on your ticket. The airport lists several kinds of road transport and public transit. Choose the actual service that can carry your party and bags. Use its current terminal pickup instructions. A Portland hotel address does not establish a complimentary airport transfer.

TriMet’s current Red Line page links PDX with east and northeast Portland, the city centre and points farther west. Use the current planner for the hotel you choose. A direct airport train does not make the final hotel leg disappear. Check the actual stop, any change and the approach to the guest door. This matters especially when you have several bags or need a step-free path.

The airport and TriMet place the MAX station by the baggage-claim area. Follow current airport signs around any construction. Do not use an old photo as the whole terminal route. If you need help reaching the station, arrange that through the appropriate service. A rollable bag on the train is only one part of the complete arrival.

Keep Red Line and Portland Streetcar distinct. Northrup includes streetcar tickets as a stay benefit, but that does not prove a ticket for every MAX airport journey. Ask what the current ticket covers and use the operator’s actual fare terms. A streetcar connection may be useful for the last city leg. It still needs the right stop and direction for your hotel.

Check the current service calendar after a late flight. TriMet publishes different last journeys and current alerts, so the time you leave baggage claim matters. Do not treat frequent daytime trains as all-night service. If the actual train does not fit, arrange another accepted provider. Keep a complete plan rather than an airport train followed by an unresolved final leg.

For the Heathman, your destination is 1001 SW Broadway. For Northrup, use the full NW Northrup Street address from the hotel confirmation. Jupiter NEXT is at 900 E Burnside Street, and Eastlund is at 1021 NE Grand Avenue. Give the provider the full name and street. East and west street prefixes can change the actual destination.

Jupiter needs a particularly clear arrival note because both properties check in at NEXT. Guests staying at Original also start at the NEXT lobby before crossing to that building. If you bought a NEXT room, keep that exact name in the booking. A shared check-in point does not turn an Original room into a NEXT room. Confirm where your room will be.

For a road provider, agree the whole party and bags before travel. Add any child-seat or equipment need to the actual vehicle booking. A car that seats four people may not carry all four guests’ large bags. An adapted room does not prove the airport vehicle is adapted. The vehicle and final hotel entrance should work as a single arrival plan.

PDX describes a wheelchair-accessible taxi request service and asks guests to state mobility-assistance needs clearly. Use the current airport instructions and provider confirmation for the trip you mean. Ask where you will meet and how you will reach that point. Keep the hotel’s guest-door approach with it. We do not assume every ordinary taxi can provide the same vehicle or assistance.

A rental car needs its own parking comparison. Northrup has a parking benefit with first-come spaces. Jupiter has paid first-come parking in different options. Eastlund uses valet only, with vehicle limits. Ask the Heathman for the current parking method and cost rather than borrowing another hotel’s terms.

Then consider how often you need to drive during the stay. A theatre-centred visit downtown may not need the same car plan as several trips beyond Portland. Add the parking and destination costs for the actual days you will use it. A lower room headline can change once you have priced those journeys. Compare the whole usable trip.

For an evening event, check the return to the hotel at the time you expect to leave. A train or streetcar that works before the show may have different service afterwards. Use the current operator result, including the stop approach. If you will book a car, arrange the actual pickup at the venue. Do not assume the outward trip creates a return.

Keep access needs tied to the actual route, including any station lifts and current alerts. A route that normally works may have a change on your travel day. Check the operator’s current service status before leaving. If it does not fit, use the alternative you have accepted. The room choice should still be usable with the transport you can actually take.

No fixed fare or road time is promised here. The current provider or operator sets those terms for the journey you book. Save the hotel address and the agreed pickup instructions. Arrange the airport departure as well as the arrival. Then choose the base with both the bedroom and the complete return plan settled.

Choose the Portland room for your real trip

Choose the Portland base through the places you will return from most often. The Heathman gives Southwest Broadway. Northrup gives a Northwest suite stay.

Jupiter NEXT gives East Burnside, while Eastlund gives NE Grand Avenue by the convention area. Those are four different starting points for your trip. Put the actual plans beside them before ranking room prices.

For a first short city visit, the Heathman may fit a set of downtown visits well. Check the actual route to each one. Then select a two-person king or queen room, a two-double room, or a named sleeper suite. The choice should give every guest the bed and privacy they expect. The address alone does not solve a sleeping plan.

For two friends who want separate main beds, compare Heathman’s two doubles with the named two-queen rooms at the other hotels. Jupiter NEXT calls its two-queen room The XX. Northrup has a Double Queen Suite, and Eastlund has named queen categories. Keep the accepted guest count with each actual offer. Do not use a king suite’s seating to invent another main bed.

For a family of four, Northrup gives two different kitchen and sleeping choices. King Suite has a king with a full-size sleeper and a full kitchen. Double Queen Suite has two queens and a twin sleeper, with a kitchenette. Both stay capped at four. Choose the equipment and beds that fit the family together, rather than assuming the twin sleeper raises the cap.

For different bedtimes, Heathman’s One Bedroom Suite gives a named separate king bedroom and sleeper sectional. Eastlund’s City Suite gives a living room with a sliding wall but a one-king bed list. Ask what closes off and where every guest would sleep. Those are distinct privacy and furniture plans. A suite filter cannot decide between them for you.

For a longer stay with cooking, Northrup King Suite is the clearest full-kitchen product here. Its range and full refrigerator are named, with cookware. The double-queen kitchenette has different equipment. A mini-fridge at Jupiter or Eastlund does not become a kitchen because you stay longer. Decide what meals you need to make before choosing a room.

For a convention trip, Eastlund’s actual NE Grand Avenue point is useful to compare with your venue entrance. A room near the event can help when you return during the day, but only if the route and room fit. Check the full accepted party and lead-guest age. Then think about evening plans on the other side of the river. A close event base may still need another journey for dinner.

For a Central Eastside stay, Jupiter NEXT gives a choice of king and two-queen rooms with shared spaces on the property. Choose NEXT in the actual booking. If a private balcony or another bedroom matters, get that feature specifically confirmed. The shared Perch and an XL room do not create those private spaces. Keep the actual product name with your expectations.

For a guest with mobility needs, compare named adapted rooms through the beds and shower you use. Northrup’s adapted King Suite lists a roll-in shower with the full kitchen. Eastlund lists several adapted categories with different beds. Heathman separates mobility and hearing features. Ask Jupiter for the exact NEXT room it can confirm, then check the complete approach at every property.

For a younger adult group, lead-guest age rules can narrow the choice early. Northrup and Eastlund each publish a twenty-one minimum for check-in or registration. Ask the other hotels about the actual booking holder and arrival party. A room that sleeps the group does not remove that condition. Get a usable check-in arrangement before accepting a firm rate.

For a dog owner, the room and animal policy need to fit together. Northrup and Eastlund do not accept ordinary pets under their current policies. Jupiter has a pet policy with limits and a fee to confirm. Ask the Heathman about its current terms for the actual animal. Do not carry one hotel’s welcome across the whole shortlist.

For a trip with a car, a parking benefit should be read with its limits. Northrup’s lot is first come. Jupiter’s paid spaces are also first come, while Eastlund is valet only. Ask what happens if your planned vehicle does not fit the normal arrangement. Keep the current full parking cost and alternative route with the room comparison.

For a stay without a car, use the current route planner for the repeated journeys as well as PDX. A streetcar benefit at Northrup may help some city trips, but MAX and the final airport connection have their own terms. Check the last return after events. If the actual service does not fit, include another provider in the budget. The best transport choice is the one that serves your real dates and bags.

For light sleepers, ask about the exact bedroom position and current events or work. Jupiter’s owner explicitly notes that events can affect sound. We have not tested the bedrooms at any hotel here. A city view, Northwest address or suite door is not a measured quiet rating. Use the hotel’s specific answer for the room you would buy.

For flexible plans, read the actual rate terms before taking an advance offer. Eastlund expressly separates prepay rates from its ordinary cancellation wording. Northrup asks for contact on longer reservations. The other hotels need the selected offer checked too. Keep the change deadline with the amount you could lose if the trip shifts.

Compare the full bill once the room works. Add every guest and any sleeper or cot charge, with current hotel fees. Keep parking and the transport needed for your repeated plans beside it. Then choose the base that gives the right room and a practical return. That is a clear Portland decision grounded in the stay your party will actually use.

Portland sources, check dates and corrections

This is desk research from the sources linked below, with hotel location and feature checks in October 2026. We have not stayed at or tested these hotels. The area choices express our judgment about trip fit. No price, availability, safety grade or service rating is implied.

A dated check records what the source said at that point. It does not guarantee that the stay or route is unchanged. If you spot an error, send the page and the correction. We can then recheck the affected hotel or area, or arrival note.

FAQ: choosing a base in Portland

Where should I stay in Portland for a first visit?

Compare your repeated plans with the actual hotel points. Heathman gives SW Broadway, Northrup the Northwest, Jupiter NEXT East Burnside and Eastlund NE Grand. Then choose the accepted main beds and any room privacy or kitchen you need.

Does Heathman Deluxe Double have two queens?

The current owner list says two doubles for four guests. Keep those beds distinct from queens at other properties. The One Bedroom Suite is a different king-and-sleeper plan with a private bedroom.

Are Heathman Studio and One Bedroom suites the same layout?

The owner describes Studio as an open-plan choice. One Bedroom Suite has a separate king bedroom and living room with sleeper sectional. Both list four, but the privacy is different.

Do both Northrup suite types have a full kitchen?

King Suite lists the full kitchen with a range and full refrigerator. Double Queen Suite lists a kitchenette with mini-fridge and microwave. Do not transfer the king product’s cooking equipment to the two-queen suite.

Can Northrup Double Queen take five from its bed list?

No. Two queens and a twin sleeper do not raise the published four-person maximum. Have the whole party accepted in the actual room and keep all ages with the rate.

Is Northrup parking guaranteed by its included pass?

The owner includes a parking pass but says lot spaces are first come. Ask about your actual parking need and any alternative. Do not treat the pass as a reserved space.

Is Jupiter NEXT the same building as Jupiter Original?

No. NEXT is at 900 E Burnside and Original at 800. All guests check in at NEXT, but the room buildings and products differ. Confirm which building your actual booking buys.

Does Jupiter XL Corner Suite prove a second bedroom?

No. The current list describes a king with extra seating and bar space. It does not establish another private bedroom or sleeper. Ask about any added guest and real bed before booking.

Does Eastlund King Plus have two fixed main beds?

The owner lists a California king and a queen-size sofa sleeper. That differs from the named two-queen rooms. Ask about the layout with the sofa open and have the full party accepted.

Do Northrup Streetcar tickets cover the PDX MAX trip?

Do not assume they cover every regional service. Ask what the current ticket includes and use the operator’s actual fare and route plan. Keep MAX and the final Streetcar connection distinct.

Verdict: where to stay in Portland

Choose where to stay in Portland through the actual beds and the days you will repeat. Heathman gives Broadway with named doubles and sleeper suites. Northrup needs the kitchen and four-person cap kept clear.

Jupiter NEXT needs the exact building and private-space check. Eastlund needs the real queen or King Plus plan and room-specific cap. Confirm the complete PDX and daily returns before accepting the full rate.
